Chrono
I'm Digging this new typeface by Eric Olson. These rigid, geometric typefaces are so hot right now! Ok, it's nearly geometric.
"Chrono is a refined oval sans serif of 20th century origins and 21st century sensibilities. Influences ranging from the gruff Aurora Grotesk series to the elegant Neuzeit are paired with a subtle geometry and typographic utility to inform this family of sans serifs."
Harriet
Today, Okay Type launches it's new typeface, Harriet. It's beautiful. Go buy the font!
Jackson describes it like this:
The Harriet Series is a rational serif family. It’s a contemporary reflection of the serifs popular in mid-20th-century American and English design. Harriet draws inspiration from both transitional faces, such as Baskerville, and modern faces, such as Century, at the same time it is unburdened by any particular historical model. The display styles give it just enough exuberance to sparkle while the diligent, sturdy text styles make it a true workhorse.
Colophon Foundry
Check out this rad, Brighton-based foundry, Colophon. It's Nice That uses Apercu in the newest issue. I suggest you go buy the font and mag right now!!
The New Humans
Has anyone else noticed all these great new humanist typefaces? It makes sense, I guess. Seems like just last year geomtric sans were all the rage. Check out a few recent hits: Carter Sans, Ideal Sans and Capucine.
