Man, I love paintings like this... awesome work by Australian artist, Dane Lovett.

Seven Days
Check out the great work by another Portuguese artist, Cristiana Couceiro. I love her incorporation of bright colors to the old black and white photos and aged paper.
Happy last day of the year!

Zoo York Skateboards
Zoo York has had excellent design as long as I can remember and they often get artist and designer friends to do board graphics for them. Their latest series called the photocopy series focuses on hand drawn and found typography around the city. They're almost like those hand made fliers for punk shows way back when. Great series.
Type can be fun too.

3D Artist
Alright... I have a little secret to tell you. I love 3D stuff. Well, not everything, but what I do like is that geeky star wars type concept stuff that's done really well. And rendered well, too... that's important. I've been geeking out on Zamak's stuff now for a few days... kinda makes me want to go buy Maya.

I really like the chaotic lines Rene uses. You get a great sense of movement.. equally chaotic and graceful.

Can you put badass on your resume?
So I saw this clip a while ago on the Boards of Canada video for Dayvan Cowboy and have been mesmerized since. The footage for this is some of the most beautiful and captivating film I've ever seen.
If you hadn't heard of him before, here you go... Joe Kittinger.

Silas Baxter Neal
I don't know if you know this... but I really like skateboarding. I grew up doing it, it's what got me into design and illustration. I'll admit, I still look at skateboarding websites and watch skatevideos and I even keep up with who's still riding skateboards. So it's to my surprise that I've never really heard of this guy before... SOTY2008.

Sundance Channel Documentary
I've been watching a lot of disturbing documentaries lately, and I came across this one which actually didn't leave me wishing I had never been born. Kind of a long watch, but well worth it. Interesting to see the length that some will go to make their manufacturing process more eco-friendly.
Oh, and I snagged the image of Marjorie the Trash Heap from some Jim Henson site... she's not really in the movie.
