BIG NEWS, The Post Family is Moving

In just over 1 year we have outgrown our lovely home. All of us were torn about the decision to move mostly because it meant leaving behind the incredible sunsets. By the end of this summer The Post Family will be moving to a larger work space with the added value of a gallery/event space. We are excited to engage the Chicago arts community even more in the next year.

Which brings me to my next point, we need to sublease our existing space by September 1st! The sublease is $1100 and will increase to $1200 next April. You may look through our Family Albums to get a better idea of all the fun to be had here. We are leaving behind a dark room, utility sink, platform and many wonderful memories. If you are interested in taking over our space please email us, everyone@thepostfamily.com.

Love,
The Post Family

p.s. With the new space comes a beautiful new website and also many new artworks! Be on the lookout.

“Drawn from imagination, photography, and personal observation, my paintings reflect an interest in art as an expressive response to experience. My work expresses my preoccupations with friends and family, history, geography, and a nagging sense of dread. For me, the image and its creation are of overriding concern. Formal issues, craft, and materials are essential as the means to this end, but it is the image itself that is significant and that sustains my interest.”

They left late last night after a long day of preparations including the finishing touches to our five million pound gallery walls and packaging some beautiful, never-before-seen artworks. The rest of us are flying tonight because we are afraid of the smells from the car ride. The Post Family eats lots of junk food and thus becomes gassy. I just about cleared the room last night. Anyways… Come see us tomorrow at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn at the bottom of McCarren Park Pool. I will be wearing floaties, goggles, nose pincher things, Zinka, ear plugs and an elegant, form-fitting, european-style speedo.

Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the first installment of Tuesday Type. Each week I will be drooling over type related matter that is, well, for lack of a better or real word, droolable. I’m starting off this series with a typeface that I believe is one of the best sans-serifs to bless the type market in years, Seravek. Designed by Eric Olson of Process Type Foundry, “Seravek is a linear sans-serif designed for identity, editorial and information design.” It’s also beautiful. I am basically in love (strictly platonic) with the bold lowercase.

The video camera sends the image to the computer which transfers the information to each motor. Then each motor aligns the wooden pixels to reflect a certain intensity of light. How?
